Palazzo Boncompagni is social
Every Friday from October 16 to November 27, 2026; from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday nights have a different vibe. The week is coming to an end, the weekend is beginning, and you feel like doing something worth remembering.
Starting in October, Palazzo Boncompagni is offering a regular event, (also in English), to start the weekend in style: an aperitif in the halls of a Renaissance palace, followed by a guided tour featuring frescoes, grotesques, and five centuries of Bolognese history.
Before entering the halls, a glass of wine and a selection of finger foods. Then the tour, in an atmosphere that 16th-century palaces have a way of creating all on their own: shifting light, an unusual silence, and details that go unnoticed during the day.
Palazzo Boncompagni, located in the heart of Bologna, is a Renaissance masterpiece built in 1537 at the behest of Cardinal Boncompagni, who later became Pope Gregory XIII. The palace is known for its elegant architecture and for the famous Sala del Papa, decorated with frescoes that celebrate the history of the Boncompagni family. A place brimming with charm, it blends art and history, serving as an important symbol of Bologna’s cultural heritage.
Tonight’s aperitif
Every Friday, the theme changes, rotating among three options:
• Spritz – Aperol, Campari or Select
• Gin — Lemon, Tonic or Negroni
• Champagne — in collaboration with a select winery
When you make your reservation, you’ll find the aperitif paired with the evening you’ve chosen.
Palazzo Boncompagni can only be visited as part of a guided tour, for which reservations are required, Click here to make a reservation
