The beautiful rooms and impressive architecture of Palazzo Boncompagni, an extraordinary example of the mature Italian Renaissance, can be visited according to the hours published on this page with guided tours that can be booked online.
Vignola’s spiral staircase, the gallery with its inlaid colonnade, the courtyard and its precious magnolia tree and, of course, the Pope’s room with its frescoes.

How to get there

By car
Exit the motorway at the Bologna Fiera exit and proceed towards the center. The building is located in a limited traffic area and it is recommended that you park at the Piazza XIII Agosto Garage.

By train
From the railway station the Palazzo is a 15 minute walk up Via Indipendenza towards Piazza Maggiore and a left turn onto Via del Monte. Alternatively, take bus no. 25 towards the Due Madonne Depository, get off at the Rizzoli stop and then follow Via Indipendenza until you reach Via del Monte.

 
By plane
Take the Marconi express train or the Aerobus to Central Station and then follow the directions detailed in the “by train” section.
