Palazzo Boncompagni is social
June 21st 2022
The first scheduled event is a conversation with Michelangelo Pistoletto on the theme “Art between Religion and Science”, introduced by Silvia Evangelisti, on June 21st at 7.00pm.
In the exhibition “Michelangelo Pistoletto – Gregory XIII, from the Renaissance to the Rebirth”, held in 2021 at Palazzo Boncompagni, a relationship was established between what was the human, social and scientific vision of the Pope and Michelangelo Pistoletto’s attitude towards the same areas in our time.
In the exhibition, this attitude was summarized in the work Terzo Paradiso. The first paradise, the natural one, and the second paradise, the artificial one created by human beings, have now collided. In the triple circle of the work they are represented by the two outer circles. A new commitment awaits us: that of giving birth to a third paradise in the central circle, which consists in harmonic connection between the natural world and the artificial world. The Third Paradise indicates the path towards a new humanity.
In reference to the three circles, Pistoletto puts art at the center, for a fruitful connection between religion and science that leads to the regeneration of society.
