“Alfredo Pirri. Palace Portrait” is not just an exhibition, but a dialogue between works, people, ghosts of the past and shadows of the future. An unmissable opportunity to discover the Palace in a new light and live an artistic experience that challenges the boundaries between time, space and perception.

After Michelangelo Pistoletto, Marino Marini, Aldo Mondino and Mimmo Paladino at Palazzo Boncompagni once again an exhibition featuring a great contemporary artist displaying his works in the splendid sixteenth-century spaces of the palace that was once the residence of Pope Gregory XIII.

Alfredo Pirri (Cosenza, 1957) is one of the most appreciated Italian artists on the contemporary scene for his ability to interweave art, architecture and space. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he still lives and works, Pirri is distinguished by an artistic research that explores the relationship between perception and matter, often through the use of innovative materials and multidisciplinary techniques.
His works, which range from environmental installations to paintings on reflective materials, are characterized by a strong dialogue with the surrounding space, transforming it into an integral element of artistic creation.

Throughout his career, Alfredo Pirri has exhibited in prestigious national and international institutions, including MAXXI in Rome, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Venice Biennale. His works are in important public and private collections, and his innovative approach has profoundly influenced the way art interacts with architectural and social spaces.
Pirri continues to experiment, creating works that stimulate reflection, interaction and emotion, confirming him as a central figure in contemporary Italian art.

The onset of a scandalous and more powerful beauty forces the mirror to confess something that changes everything. So if there was no trauma that breaks the vision to which we are accustomed, hardly that instrument would have provided images not already known.
